United Wins Ovation at ISE 2013
Prize draw on Merging stand won by local OB powerhouse
Puidoux, February 2013: ISE 2013 saw the introduction of Ovation 4.0 so what better way to create some attention than have a business card draw for an Ovation Platinum Native pack. The prize was drawn at 4.00pm on the last day and the winner was Christian Postma from the Hilversum based facility company, United.
Outside Broadcast has proved to be a popular application for Ovation as live playout is often a key part of the recording process. Ovation has proved a very popular solution with its range of user interfaces, ability to accept virtually any sound file and the comprehensive output matrix.
"Ovation was already on our wish list, because it has features our current jingle/play out system is missing; our audio crew was extremely happy to find out that we were the winners of a platinum Ovation!" was the winner’s reaction.
Senior Sound Supervisor, Huub Lelieveld was more specific; "There are three features that we really love and the first is the ability to add markers in the waveform of the audio and letting those markers trigger events or midi, then there is setting loop markers in the audio waveform and being able to go in and out of the loop and finally, being able to edit audio in realtime in Pyramix. We're already familiar with Merging software as we are the owner of a 128 channel Pyramix MassCore system which we regularly use for the recording of big DVD and TV multitrack projects for artists such as Andre Rieu, Coldplay, Metallica and the MTV Africa awards."
So successful was this idea that other draws will take place at BVE 2013 on the eMerging stand, B72 and on the NAB booth, C3239. Merging Product Manager, Johan Wadsten remarked; "We hope we will find as worthy winners as United, but whoever does win will find some feature that clearly differentiates Ovation from other playout software."
