This Swiss-made device is crafted to the highest standards and delivers audio quality that surpasses industry standards.

High Performance, Scalability, and Superior Audio Quality

Hapi’s outstanding capabilities have been put to use by renowned broadcasters like NBC, BBC, and France TV, as well as prestigious live venues such as the LA Philharmonic and Disneyworld Paris. Grammy-winning music studios like Teldex and Soundmirror have also chosen to utilize its remarkable technology. Compared to its predecessors, Hapi Mk III adds extended AoIP capabilities. In addition to full RAVENNA/AES67 support, Hapi Mk III is Dante Ready™.*
* More information about Dante and a Dante Ready™ upgrade for existing customers can be found in our Dante FAQs.

Hapi Mk III is the foundation of the Merging ecosystem. Its small form factor of only 1U makes it the ideal rack unit for any application. Two slots for Merging I/O expansion cards allow you to configure Hapi Mk III to your applications. Merging A/D cards feature a unique dual gain topology, with up to 78 dB gain and an impressive dynamic range of up to 136 dB A (mic) / 139 dB A (line). Additionally, premium versions offer even higher specifications and support ultra-high resolution formats DXD, 384 kHz PCM and DSD 256 bitstream. D/A cards feature selectable roll-off filters. D/A trims level (in 0.1 dB increments) and signal polarity can be adjusted for each channel individually to ensure mastering grade precision.

With highly skilled technicians overseeing the manufacturing process, Hapi Mk III is the embodiment of Swiss craftsmanship, where every component is meticulously sourced and tested. The result is an audio device of unparalleled precision and build quality to guarantee longevity and lasting value.

Numerous AoIP Options and Full Redundancy

Hapi Mk III allows users to streamline their AoIP experience, making it more accessible than ever before. With an easy-to-use OLED display for stand-alone operation as well as intuitive web browser control, this network audio mainframe offers unprecedented AoIP flexibility with full support of RAVENNA/AES67 as well as a Dante option. Its redundant network RJ45 connectors ensure reliability and security. The second network port can also be utilized in switch mode to connect an extra interface or system.

Merging has contributed numerous innovations to the RAVENNA/AES67 workflow, and, as a result, Hapi Mk III supports all relevant protocols and standards such as ST2022-7, ST2110, NMOS and even LAWO HOME. Additionally, the inclusion of the ZMAN ARM-based audio network module provides significant performance upgrades compared to the original Hapi, which was already highly popular.

With Merging’s impressive array of software solutions, drivers, and virtual sound cards like MAD, VAD, and ANEMAN, Hapi Mk III is ready to work perfectly with any digital audio workstation (DAW), irrespective of the computer’s operating system.

Dante®

As a new feature of the Mk III model, Hapi now offers optional support for the Dante standard by Audinate, which is highly popular in the live and installation sector. This option adds compatibility with more than 4000 devices from over 600 manufacturers. Hapi Mk III comes Dante Ready™, so users who require Dante can purchase a license from Audinate. Two license models are available, 16x16 I/O and 64x64 I/O. This ensures there are no additional costs for users who do not need Dante.

Hapi Mk III connects to … everything!

Next to its network capabilities, Merging Hapi Mk III offers a wide range of connectivity options, which include ADAT, S/PDIF, AES/EBU, Wordclock. Additionally, 2 slots for Merging V3 expansion cards allow up to 16 channels of analog I/O (mic/line) or 128 channels of MADI + SFP. A 64-channel PT64 V3 card for Pro Tools integration will follow in 2025. With the ability to handle an impressive number of 64 streams, 144 input and 146 output channels, the internal router is truly a powerful tool. Therefore, Hapi Mk III is an excellent solution for increasing the channel count of RAVENNA/AES67 interfaces, such as Merging Anubis or Neumann MT 48. Of course, Hapi MK III can also be combined with Neumann’s line of AES67 studio monitors to create stereo and immersive 3D audio setups. With the new Dante option, Hapi Mk III can also be used as the centerpiece or an I/O extension in Dante AoIP environments.

For headphone monitoring, Hapi Mk III features an ultra-low impedance, mastering grade headphone output, conveniently positioned on the front of the unit in both 1/4” and 1/8” TRS format.

The sync port on the back of the unit allows synchronization via LTC, MIDI and Video Reference.

8 Channel D/A Card for Hapi Mk III – Premium Version

The DA8V3P is a high-quality digital to analog card with 8 output channels for use in Merging Hapi Mk III devices. As was proven in numerous tests, this DA8V3P card is the quietest multichannel D/A converter available on the market. Its impressive specifications include a typical dynamic range of 125 dB (> 128 dB A-weighted) and THD+N below -116 dB.

The low phase noise oscillator circuitry contributes to the exceptional clarity and stereo imaging of analog signals by minimizing both jitter and wander.

Additionally, the DA8V3P incorporates an analog mute circuitry and provides protection against spurious transients occurring during sample rate changes and power cycling "clicks" and "pops", which can damage not only speakers but also the listener's ears. With a noise floor of less than -125 dB, the DA8V3P provides ultimate analog output quality for any monitoring system.

The Premium card DA8V3P has superior specifications and supports sample rates up to 352.8 kHz (DXD) and 384 kHz as well as bitstream formats up to DSD256.
