X2Pro Audio Convert delivers Final Cut Pro X projects to Pyramix

Puidoux/Pangbourne, October 2012: Marquis and Merging are delighted to announce that the X2Pro®V2.0 supports the transfer of Final Cut Pro X projects to Pyramix for audio finishing. This highly successful application has already been proven as a major boost to workflow efficiency when combined with Avid Protools, and now Pyramix users can get the same advantage.

X2Pro converts the Final Cut Pro X XML into an AAF file which can be read by Pyramix systems with the PSP-AAF interchange option installed. This seamless integration between the two applications allows an unlimited number of Audio Roles in Final Cut Pro X to be opened by the Pyramix user, which allows sound designers and mixers to get to work immediately. The V2 version of this app introduces several enhancements to further maximise operational efficiency. Specific Roles can be selected for export which reduces the size of the AAF, and the order in which they appear can be controlled so that these present in the right sequence for the editor. Audio source trimming with handles can further reduce AAF size and BWF metadata is preserved, which makes it much easier to select the correct audio channel. Any Final Cut Pro X disabled flags are also detected so that these clips are not exported, making the editing task even simpler. X2Pro can be purchased from the Mac App Store.

Merging’s President, Claude Cellier, commented, “This is a real bonus for our post production customers. This inexpensive solution really speeds up the editing process and we are delighted that Marquis has added Pyramix compatibility to X2Pro.”

Chris Steele, product manager, Marquis Broadcast said: “X2Pro uses Marquis’ Media Highway, the core technology employed by Marquis’ media integration products to integrate Final Cut Pro X into professional audio workflows. The transfer into Pyramix now allows us to help deliver seamless integration and a smooth workflow between these applications.”
