PyramixTM Virtual Studio

 PYRAMIX V6 MassCoreTM Overview

Pyramix is already acknowledged as the audio industry's most advanced digital audio workstations. It offers unsurpassed sonic quality and a level of flexibility proven by its suitability and acceptance in post production, multi-channel live music recording, broadcast radio and CD/SACD music mastering.

In a world of PC or Mac based DAWs generally using rendered processing technologies Pyramix has always been capable of the more advanced 'real-time' processing making its editing model and speed far more efficient and capable. This is one of many reasons why so many broadcasters, film and TV post houses as well as music and mastering professionals around the world choose Pyramix.

A new era now begins for PyramixTM V6 with our latest technological breakthrough called MassCoreTM. MassCoreTM is a new and incredibly powerful real-time engine for Pyramix and offers an increased level of processing and channel count so great that Pyramix now becomes, quite simply, the most powerful digital audio workstation in the world today.

Pyramix MassCoreTM can be configured from just 16 to an astonishing 384 simultaneous live input and output channels (768 I/O) at 48kHz, or at 256 channels through the mix bus into a massive 256 channel mix-buss structure. Retaining an almost infinite number of real-time editing (virtual) tracks and with latencies far lower than any other Windows or Mac based system. Pyramix MassCoreTM offers a level of power, sonic quality and flexibility that outperforms every other DAW on the market.

So many tracks and so many channels at 48kHz may not be required by everybody but it is worth noting this also allows for 192 simultaneous I/O channels at 96kHz, 96 I/O channels at 192kHz and we don't stop there. Pyramix is the only system in the world capable of 48 I/O channels in DXD (352.8 kHz) and DSD (1-bit 2.8MHz sample rate) for SACD production.

The MassCoreTM engine is as powerful and as capable as a large format standalone digital console. Fully automated with freely configurable mix, buss and monitoring structures. Most importantly, Pyramix retains all its real-time editing and processing capabilities.

There are virtually no software limitations on how many plug-ins I can have in a channel, no worries about how many tracks I can have at the higher sample rates and no limitations about how many editing tracks I need. In addition, I can have all the freely assignable VST plug-ins I can muster where and whenever I want them.

Most importantly PyramixTM remains one of the most open systems on the market able to play/record in just about any audio format and any bit rate that can even be mixed within the same time-line without conversion. The range of project and session interchange modules also allows PyramixTM to integrate to just about all 3rd-party DAW and NLE systems.

PyramixTM can be configured to suit your specific needs. The range of software specific application packs below details the different versions for post, mastering, broadcast and music environments, or you may prefer to create a custom system yourself using the a-la-carte range of options.

 The Real-time Power of PyramixTM

No other digital audio workstation in this price range can offer the power, flexibility and real-time editing ability of PyramixTM. Instant and unlimited fades and X-fades, creating and changing an edit or fade point are all instantaneously performed. Few other systems can offer this much power and those that can costs many times the price of PyramixTM. Real-time means more than just instant editing, it allows PyramixTM to offer far more advanced editing features than any other rendered system available and it doesn’t stop there, with real-time processing of EQ, Dynamics, FX and Stereo and Surround Sound Automation, PyramixTM is a new breed of PC based workstation with a level of power and flexibility far beyond the reach other mainstay systems costing even just twice the price.

PyramixTM is one of the most cost effective audio workstations available, even with all this power. We are also one of the few systems capable of very high quality audio restoration with our partner developers such as Algorithmix, Cedar and Purenote.

As an example of the immense processing power available in PyramixTM, it has the capability to offer true record, editing and mixing capability in 32 bit floating point at 352.8 kHz operation. PyramixTM is the only system in the world that can achieve this and still the only system capable of multi-track DSD/DXD recording, editing, mixing and mastering for 1 bit 2.8MHz SACD production,  both for stereo and  5.0/5.1 surround programs. Whether it’s Multi-track music record/editing, Post-production for Film and Television, or CD, DVD, or SACD mastering, there is a configuration of PyramixTM that will meet your specific needs.

If all this is just too much to believe just check-out your nearest Merging Sales Partner in our Dealers section and ask them to organise a PyramixTM demonstration for you. You won’t be disappointed!
