MADI2 I/O Option

The Mykerinos MADI Daughter board is the solution for high I/O channel count applications.
It offers 56 channels of 24 bit bi-directional I/O and up to 64 channels in MADI-X (MADI Extended) format. It can be ordered either in a BNC based coaxial version or an optical duplex SC version. Both versions are fitted with a standard Wordclock BNC I/O connector, which can be software programmed as a Wordclock In or Out signal.

For optimal performance and long term availability, Merging decided to develop it's own MADI receiver/transmitter FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). This chip allows two modes of operation, which can be selected through software control: one which provides up to 56 channels of I/O channels as per the original MADI specifications (Standard AES 10-1991) and one where up to 64 channels of I/O are supported up to 48 kHz. The MADI option can be run at any standard sampling rate as well as x2 sampling rates such as 96 kHz and even x4 sampling rates such as 192 kHz and beyond. Just divide the maximum number of I/O channels available by 2, 4 or 8 for the High Sampling rates as per the table below.
